Roofing in Humble,Texas

Humble, Kingwood and Atascocita share a mailing identity and almost nothing else. Three different permitting authorities cover this area, and using the wrong one stalls a job for weeks.

Permits & approvals

Three jurisdictions inside one mailing area

City of Humble

The incorporated City of Humble runs its own building department. If you're inside city limits, that's where the permit comes from — not the county, not Houston.

Kingwood is City of Houston

This is the one that catches people. Kingwood was annexed by the City of Houston, so a Kingwood roof permits through the Houston Permitting Center under Houston's adopted code and its wind-resistance amendments. It is not a Humble permit and it is not a county permit.

Atascocita is unincorporated Harris County

Atascocita and much of the surrounding area sit in unincorporated Harris County, where routine reroofing on an existing home generally doesn't require a county building permit — but floodplain rules still apply, and this area has plenty of mapped floodplain.

Village and HOA review

Kingwood's villages and the newer Atascocita-area developments both run architectural review on exterior changes. We check yours before ordering material.

On the roof

What we find on roofs in this area

  • Flood-rebuilt homes with un-rebuilt roofs

Harvey put water through a lot of Kingwood and Atascocita. Interiors got rebuilt on insurance money; the roofs above them are frequently still original and now well past service life.

  • Roof leaks read as flood damage

We get called for ceiling stains that everyone assumes came from below. Often it's a failed pipe boot that has been running since the storm. We find the actual source before anyone opens a wall.

  • Heavy canopy near Lake Houston

The older Kingwood villages have serious tree cover. Same story as The Woodlands — packed valleys, algae streaking on shaded slopes and limb strike.

  • Roof plus interior in one contract

We do the roof and the drywall, paint, flooring and bathroom rebuild underneath it. On a water-damage job that means one contractor answering for the whole repair instead of two trades blaming each other.

What we do in Humble

One contractor, whole exterior

Most storm jobs touch more than the roof. Keeping it under one crew means no finger-pointing between trades and one point of contact for you.
